One of Weymouth's biggest tourist attractions
New website has massively increased visitor numbers
Nothe Fort is now one of Weymouth’s major attractions and a venue for a wide range of public events. It also operates as an education centre, museum and national archive
The existing website was dated and confused, with over thirty items in the navigation, giving no clear impression of the Fort's varied offerings. The management committee wanted to clarify their identity and bring it in to the 21st century whilst retaining their long heritage as a historic building.
Working with local graphic designer cleary creative, a new logo, website, uniforms, signage and printed materials were created. Bespoke icons replaced the confusing navigation, showcasing the Fort's main strands and quickly guiding visitors to relevant information.
Integrated event management and mailchimp mailing lists effectively communicate with visitors. Following the launch of the new site, visitor numbers and venue hire increased dramatically.
Volunteers were trained in the management of their section of the website, allowing work to be distributed across a diverse team and increasing stakeholder involvement.
A password protected 'intranet' area of the site allows the team to communicate efficiently and staff rotas to be managed and shared.
